EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Editorial Standards

Latino Professionals Magazine reports on the executives, founders, investors, and directors shaping American business. What follows describes the standards under which that reporting is produced, reviewed, and published.

Adopted 2014. Revised August 2026.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions are made by our editors. Advertising, sponsorships, and commissioned content do not influence which subjects we cover, how we cover them, or which figures appear on our lists. Editors retain final control of headline, structure, and judgment on every piece the magazine publishes.

Sourcing and verification

Every claim of scale, influence, or importance is sourced or attributed. When a figure comes from the subject rather than an independent record, we attribute it to the subject within the piece. Interviews are conducted on the record by default. Off-the-record and background arrangements are used only when necessary and are disclosed to the reader when their existence bears on the reporting.

Corrections

Factual challenges may be submitted to corrections@latinoprofessionalsmagazine.com with the piece link and the specific claim in question. Substantive corrections are reviewed within two business days, published on the affected piece, and listed on the Corrections page. The original text is preserved with the correction attached.

Commissioned content

The magazine accepts commissioned editorial partnerships. Every commissioned page carries the label Partner Profile · Commissioned in a fixed position at the top and bottom of the piece. Commissioned content is produced under the same editorial standards as staff reporting: sourcing, verification, and editorial judgment on headline, structure, and framing remain with our editors. Commercial relationships do not affect selection for lists or honors.

Rates for commissioned partnerships are published on the Get Featured page and updated in advance of any changes.

Lists and honors

The Latino Professionals 5, BoardroomX, The Chairs, the Hall of Fame, Capital, The Dealmakers, LP Influencers, and The Institution Builders are decided by our editors against published criteria available on each list's page. Selection is not commercially available. Nominations for any list may be submitted by the individual, a colleague, an employer, or another informed party to awards@latinoprofessionalsmagazine.com; a nomination does not guarantee selection.

Conflicts of interest

Editors and staff disclose personal, professional, and financial relationships that may bear on their work. Where a conflict cannot be managed by disclosure, recusal is required. The Publisher's declared conflicts are recorded on his author page and updated as circumstances change.

Anonymity and attribution

Sources are named wherever possible. Anonymity is granted when disclosure would expose the source to professional, legal, or personal harm. The reasons for anonymity are stated in the piece.

Editorial voices

The magazine publishes in five house voices, each with its own structure and evidence standard: the Narrative Portrait, the Markets Analyst, the Interview, the Culture Stylist, and the Civic Essay. Every piece identifies its voice through structure and typography.

Coverage

Coverage extends across the full range of the community the magazine serves: Afro-Latino, Indigenous, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Central American, South American, and Caribbean. Subjects include national figures and leaders operating within a single city, immigrants and fourth-generation Americans.

The Legacy Project

The magazine's Legacy Project extends reporting on a subject beyond the closing of the issue in which the subject first appears. New entries — promotions, board appointments, transactions, retirements, obituaries — are added to the original piece and linked forward. Every entry is dated, sourced, and preserved.
